Children's Concerts
Children's Concerts are short, focused, fun, interactive events. They have a beginning, a middle and an end.
It's good to arrive a few minutes before the concert start time and talk with your child about concert etiquette. Performers are invited guests giving their gifts to the audience; applause is the customary way to show appreciation.
Songs at a concert are designed to have children participate. When parents join-in, too--children get more out of the experience and it becomes part of family memories, traditions and fun. Children's songs are selected and created to hold children's attention spans--they are short and full of activity.
Concerts run about 30 minutes if the children are under 5 years old. If the group is very focused, or all the same age, concerts might run as long as 45 minutes.
After the concert, please feel free to come up and talk with the performer. Ask the performer first if your child can strum a chord on their guitar or pluck their harp. This is also a nice time to practice "thank you's."
